Talking to Nadia about Holi…colors, life and love. We decided to make a painting. I drew a scene of 2 women playing with colors.
Nadia painted…she chose bright colors. Blues, green, red…
Here’s my super-chef husband doling out rotis for our dinner while we paint!
She then colored the hair and highlighted the eyes.

On the occasion of Saraswati Pujo, the goddess of wisdom, learning, fine art Nadia made a painting of the goddess herself. I drew an abstract of Goddess Saraswati with her swan and her musical instrument.
Nadia chose the colors and got started.
She painted the swan blue…
Yellow for the goddess’s sari…
Her jet black hair all over her face…
Nadia took a break here…her next decision was whether to put a dark sky or a sunrise one..
She decided to go with a dark sky as that would complement the yellow – “Isn’t that so Mama”?
Here is her finished version. We also started adding her initials now to all her paintings.

The birth of Lord Krishna…what lovely stories of his childhood. Nadia just loved them. She was at the Hindu temple last night to watch the beautiful dances in celebration. Today morning we did a small craft to commemorate the day. I cut out small throne for Baby Krishna to sit in.
Nadia painted and decorated the throne.
We also made a diorama with a cake box (yes I keep everything 🙂 with a lovely tree in the background. A blue sky, green grass was added to the scene.
Finally we added the seat and a little figurine I had. Happy Janmashthami to everyone.
