Baking banana bread

Nadia’s favorite snack is Banana bread from Starbucks…she doesn’t like the nuts though…so now she has decided to make her own nut-free version.

We put all the ingredients together…

She blended them…

Really well…

And here it is ready to go into the oven

Note: if this becomes a regular thing I need to buy her a bread pan.

It turned out great…showed her how to prick with a toothpick and make sure it’s all cooked.

The chef sampling her own creations and giving it a thumbs up too!

She baked enough for 2 days and saved a piece for her Baba too.

Cheers,

Aruna

Summer fun in India

I would have loved for Nadia to spend her entire summer in India, enjoying as I did when we were young. Traveling to Kolkata, fishing, picking fruit and just wandered in orchards all day!

She had to make do with 2 weeks…

Eating a lot of mangoes…

Plucking her own mangoes…

A lot of fun and fights with her cousin brother…

Attending a wedding and eating an endless supply of ice cream in the hot night…

Some quick dips in the pool…

swim

Staying cool for some casual dinners…

And this tops it all…spending precious moments with her great-grandmother πŸ™‚

Here’s hoping she gets to do this every year while I swelter in the Indian heat πŸ™‚

Monkey bread

I am sure all of you must have seen the video that’s been floating around of a delicious recipe for Monkey Bread. Ever since I showed that to Nadia, she has been wanting to try some. So we got started. I rolled the dough and Nadia stuffed the balls with chocolate bits. We tossed it into a mix of cinnamon and butter and here they are.

No worries, frosting will do the trick.Β And add on sprinkles…those always help.
