Spring…cleaning up the yard, getting ready for summer. We had a lovely warm weekend. We did not spend any time indoors at all. Nadia gathered up fallen petals, dandelions, leaves and other weeds.
I drew a few sketches (Courtesy Mer Mag) while Nadia gathered our raw ingredients!
She then colored and decorated my sketches. Petals for a skirt, flowers for a hat!
Nadia added dandelions to show a garden the girl is standing in.
She added blue flowers to show little spring showers…
Nadia added a stem here to the flower so it could serve as an umbrella too!
Here’s some other sketches Nadia decorated. This should be so much fun in fall too, with autumn leaves.

We are back after a break…tried out this “bird with flapping wings” from Made by Joel’s page. Nadia colored the bird…
And then cut out the bird and the wings…
Her cutting is really improving…
We stuck on the wings…

Super-humans…Batman, Spiderman and Superman…that’s the talk of the town. So our next topic for a painting was Spiderman…
Very focused here with the reds…

Using a thin brush, black paint and some help from Mama…Nadia did a great job with the web lines…

“I can’t help but notice there’s this strange odor today… What is it, this scent? It’s almost like some kind of man-cub”…let’s draw Sher Khan today…here’s my attempt!
Nadia painted all of it…usually I’ll help her with the borders but she had none of that with her most beloved character…

I recently starting using a “ReColor” app for the iPad. It’s kind of cool and is fun too. When I showed this to Nadia she immediately wanted to do one too…
So I drew an elephant for her…the same as above.
She used markers and colored…
It took her a while and she did not stop even for a minute…
Here’s the finished version.
She definitely loved how it turned out…
