We are having a lot of fun with packaging boxes. I cut out animals and Nadia colors them.

Nadia brought out an old sea scene we had built and whoa look at that shark checking out the fish!!

A quick craft today to mark republic day celebrations in India. Nadia glued together some sticks to create a flag.
She colored it orange, green and drew the Askhok chakra.
She asked a lot of questions about why orange, green and what the spokes signify.

Let’s build a dollhouse Mama…the peg dolls need a home. We decided to make a 3-story home. I cut out cardboard pieces and we stuck wallpaper on them.
Using duct tape we taped the wall and the floors to each other. We also cut out doors and windows.
Nadia pointed out that our house was really a Christmas tree…the shape that is 🙂
Nadia added little blocks from her toy box to use as chairs…
She stuck an aluminum foil to be a mirror.
A pine cone in the living room, a lego table with a cushion for comfort.
A decorative vase on a stool…
She had so much fun arranging and pretend playing all evening.

Have you ever taken a look at Mr. Printables? The website has some cool templates. We downloaded these snake puppets today. Nadia colored and cut.
She glued the rings together so they could be worn.

Winter has been disappointing so far, only 2 snowfalls and now the snow looks terrible. So we decided to make our own.
I cut out some cardboard moose, polar bear and huskies and Nadia painted and drew their eyes and nose on,
We added trees with snow on them.
We made a sled for the huskies to drag.
Here’s our winter wonderland…a frozen pond, lights and pretty snow on the ground.

Nadia has a stuffed tiger that’s become her new best friend over the holidays. He’s been sharing her meals, been a party to her many story-telling sessions. She has never bonded yet with a stuffed toy so it’s been a pleasure to watch this relationship. All last week, she’s been trying to make him a comfortable bed. So we decided to build him one. I cut out the bed base, foot-board, head-board and the legs. Nadia painted and decorated them.
We drew on and colored a bunch of animals…
Finally, put it together.
Yeah satisfied customer…
Here she is, tucking him in.
